The threaded Luer hub screws on, so the needle stays in place under pressure, and the blunt, non-piercing end is made for industrial fluid dispensing only. Each needle has a Type 304 stainless steel cannula bonded into a polypropylene hub, color-coded by gauge. We list 14, 18, 20, 22, 25 and 30 gauge at 1/2 in. (13 mm) exposed length, with IDs from 0.15 to 1.55 mm. Questions about threaded stainless steel dispensing needles Is a dispensing needle the same as a dispensing tip? Yes. The names are used for the same part: a metal or plastic tube on a hub that deposits fluid consistently. Our needles have blunt ends and are made for industrial use only. Can we identify gauge by hub color? Only within one supplier's range. Hub colors are not standardized across brands, so confirm gauge by the printed size or the ID and OD. Why use a Luer-lock hub rather than a Luer slip? A Luer-lock hub screws onto the outlet and cannot pull off without being unscrewed. A slip fit is held only by friction and is not recommended under dispensing pressure. Which gauge is best for a thin fluid? Finer gauges slow the flow of low-viscosity fluids and give more control over dot size. Test two adjacent gauges on your fluid and pressure before standardizing. LS-DSP-103 ## Luer-Lock Bayonet Dispensing Needles These blunt dispensing needles use a bayonet-style Luer-lock hub for fast fitting and removal on syringe barrels and valves with a Luer-lock outlet. They cover general adhesive, sealant and lubricant work where tips are changed often. This is our most complete stocked grid: 16, 18, 20, 22 and 25 gauge, each in 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 1.5 in. lengths. IDs run from 0.25 to 1.15 mm. Cannulas are Type 304 stainless steel in polypropylene hubs, color-coded by gauge. Questions about luer-lock bayonet dispensing needles What does bayonet-style mean on a needle hub? A bayonet joint engages with a push and a partial twist rather than a full screw thread. Check the hub against your outlet before switching a production line over. Which length should we stock? Most dispensing work uses the 1/2 and 1 inch lengths. The 1/4 inch length suits close work, and 1.5 inch reaches into recesses. Are these the same colors as another brand's needles? Not necessarily. Gauge colors differ between suppliers and even between product lines from one supplier, so identify gauge by the label or by ID and OD. LS-DSP-111 ## Blunt Stainless Steel Dispensing Needles All-metal blunt dispensing needles are built for heavy use and for solvents and fluids that attack plastic hubs. They thread onto syringe barrels and valve outlets like a standard needle, with no plastic in the part. Each needle pairs a Type 304 stainless steel cannula with a threaded metal hub. We stock 12, 16, 20, 25 and 30 gauge, IDs from 0.15 to 2.3 mm, in 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 1.5 in. lengths. The 12 gauge covers heavier bead work. With no plastic hub, an all-metal needle is the usual choice for heavy use and for aggressive solvents. Can these replace our current plastic-hub needles directly? They thread onto the same outlets. Match the gauge and length, and check ID and OD against your current part. How do we tell gauges apart without colored hubs? Read the gauge from the label, or measure the ID. The 30 gauge is 0.15 mm ID and the 12 gauge is 2.3 mm ID. LS-DSP-115 ## Aluminum-Reinforced Dispensing Needles Aluminum-reinforced dispensing needles are made for high pressure, high volume dispensing, where a standard plastic hub may flex. An aluminum hub carries the Type 304 stainless steel cannula. We list 14, 16, 18, 20 and 25 gauge, with IDs from 0.25 to 1.8 mm and ODs from 0.51 to 2.0 mm. Every needle is 31.6 mm (1.24 in.) overall with a 13 mm exposed cannula, and hubs are color-coded by gauge.
